Objective
To produce a commercial for Safaricom & “YOUTUBE” that captured the brand’s role in connecting lives across Kenya while celebrating community, innovation, and empowerment.
Creative Process
Conceptualised a visual narrative around everyday Kenyan lives enhanced by Safaricom’s technology and making everyday stories using “YOUTUBE SHORTS”—for businesses, education, and families.
Conducted location scouting across urban and rural environments to authentically showcase Kenya’s diverse landscapes and communities.
Used dynamic camera setups (drones, steadicams, natural lighting) to emphasise the scale of connectivity while keeping the human story at the centre.
Directed cast and extras to deliver naturalistic performances that reflected genuine connection rather than scripted promotion.
Supervised sound design and score integration to tie cultural identity with modern innovation.
Result
A nationally resonant campaign film that became instantly relatable to Kenyan audiences to use “YOUTUBE SHORTS”
Safaricom’s brand message of empowerment and connection with the Product was delivered with cinematic flair, strengthening its positioning as a technology leader.
My directing approach brought realism and emotion to a corporate brand story, making the campaign memorable and shareable.
